Plecoptera

(Stoneflies)

Nemouroidea

(Rolled-winged, Forest, and Winter Stoneflies)

I found this stonefly on the side of the garage on 6 May 2017. It measured 14 mm from head to wing tip.

It looked like a winter stonefly (Taeniopterygidae) to me, but I was far from sure, so I sent it to BugGuide for an ID. Unfortunately, they left it at stonefly.

The iNat auto ID suggested the superfamily Nemouroidea, so I went with that. Hopefully, someone will improve the ID either at BugGuide or iNat.
