Pemphredon nearctica
These have nested in an old, decaying branch the backyard for the last few years.
The males emerge first and hang out at the nest entrance waiting for a female to emerge.
Collected a female on 4 July 2018. Identified with Dolphus's 1995 key.
Here’s a video of the three Pemphredon wasps. I guess the females have finally emerged! pic.twitter.com/QIeOooDwUN
